Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers premieres on Disney Plus on May 20

Chip ’n Dale: Rescue Rangers premieres on Disney Plus on May 20. The new trailer reveals slightly more about the detective case the two chipmunks will take on in the upcoming Disney Plus original.

A comeback 30 years in the making, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers catches up with the former Disney Afternoon television stars in modern-day Los Angeles.

The combination animation and live-action comedy is billed as a “comeback 30 years in the making” and boasts a star-studded cast.

The movie stars John Mulaney as Chip, Andy Samberg as Dale, KiKi Layne, Will Arnett, Eric Bana, Flula Borg, Dennis Haysbert, Keegan-Michael Key, Tress MacNeille, Tim Robinson, Seth Rogen, J.K. Simmons, and Chris Parnell.

In this world, cartoon characters can go from 2D to 3D with a “CGI surgery.” Chip and Dale are living among cartoons and humans. Chip has succumbed to a life of suburban domesticity as an insurance salesman. Dale, meanwhile, has had CGI surgery and works the nostalgia convention circuit, desperate to relive his glory days. When a former cast mate mysteriously disappears, Chip and Dale must repair their broken friendship and take on their Rescue Rangers detective personas once again to save their friend’s life.
