Disney Cancels Plans for Disney Springs Brightline Train Station

According to the Orlando Business Journal, plans for a Brightline train station at Disney Springs have been officially cancelled.

Disney spokesperson Avery Maehrer said the following on the proposed project:

“As many people who are involved in this project are aware, the new route configuration does not support a Disney Springs station and as a result, we don’t anticipate being part of this project.”

The Disney Springs station was originally announced in 2020. The station would’ve connected Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Disney Springs, which would allow Guests to easily travel to Disney property after arriving. The train was originally slated to be completed in 2026.

The new route now goes from the Orlando International Airport  to the Orange County Convention Center area on International Drive. This route is seen as a huge boost for Universal. The company will even donate land for the proposed train station in the area that will bring guests close to their new Epic Universe theme park that is planned to be open by the summer of 2025.
