Disney Cruise Line Named “World’s Best” by ‘Travel + Leisure’ Readers

Disney Cruise Line took top honors in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, winning the best Ocean Cruise Line among those carrying 2,200 passengers or more.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Disney Cruise Line ranked number one on the list.

“This award is an honor for our team,” said Disney Cruise Line President Jeff Vahle. “It certainly is a testament to the one-of-a-kind entertainment and experiences available on our ships, but it also speaks to the attentive service and unforgettable moments delivered by our cast and crew members. They are the secret to our magic, and this recognition goes to them.”

To generate its annual rankings, Travel + Leisure asks readers to rate cruise ships on the quality of their service, staterooms, food, entertainment, itineraries and shore excursions.

The award comes just two days before the maiden voyage of the new Disney Wish. The Wish is the fifth vessel in the growing Disney Cruise Line fleet. The ship is filled with innovative new experiences, including the first-ever Disney attraction at sea, the ‘AquaMouse.’ The ride incorporates animated short films featuring Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters as guests float through 760 feet of winding tubes suspended above the ship’s upper decks.

The Wish also has a first-of-their-kind dining adventures themed to “Frozen” and Marvel and a real-life wonderland for kids at Disney’s Oceaneer Club. For adults, Disney created a Star Wars-themed hyperspace lounge that evokes the futuristic look of star cruisers in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”
