Disney today introduced their first new cruise ship in a decade, the Disney Wish.
The 4,000-passenger Disney Wish is the culmination of the first project by Disney’s CEO Bob Chapek. The ship will set out on its first voyage on July 14 from Port Canaveral, Florida.
The Wish is the fifth vessel in the growing Disney Cruise Line fleet. The ship is filled with innovative new experiences, including the first-ever Disney attraction at sea, the ‘AquaMouse.’ The ride incorporates animated short films featuring Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters as guests float through 760 feet of winding tubes suspended above the ship’s upper decks.
The Wish also has a first-of-their-kind dining adventures themed to “Frozen” and Marvel and a real-life wonderland for kids at Disney’s Oceaneer Club. For adults, Disney created a Star Wars-themed hyperspace lounge that evokes the futuristic look of star cruisers in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”
The ship also has an interactive experience using the Disney Cruise Line navigator app. The app turns the user’s phone into a virtual “spyglass,” for peering at constellations in the night sky that appear as Disney and Pixar characters.
