Disney has finally released the first official trailer for Hocus Pocus 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 1993 comedy that premieres Sept. 30 on Disney+.
Stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, all return, reprising their iconic roles as the trio of witches. Directed by Anne Fletcher, Hocus Pocus 2 is set 29 years after the events of the first film.
The three witches are summoned by two teenage girls, who perform a dark ritual in the hope of activating witch powers. Instead, they accidentally summon the theatrical, child-eating Sanderson Sisters.
“Lock up your children. Yes, Salem, we’re back!” Midler-as-Winifred explains once they arrive back on Earth. Now, it’s up to the girls to stop the Sanderson sister’s quest for revenge before dawn rises on Halloween.
Doug Jones is also returning to the role of Billy Butcherson and newcomers include Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo, Lilia Buckingham, Froyan Gutierrez and Tony Hale.
Hocus Pocus 2 is set to premiere on Disney+ on Friday, Sept. 30. The original 1993 cult classic is available for streaming on the platform.
