Disney World to Modify Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue

Beginning Friday, July 24, Disney World is set to adjust the way guests get the opportunity to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

For guests with a Disney Park Pass reservation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the attraction will continue to have limited availability accessible through the My Disney Experience virtual queue. Guests will now have an opportunity at either 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. to join the virtual queue. These two opportunities are intended to give guests more flexibility in their planning, and are also a way to further support physical distancing.

“These two opportunities are intended to give guests more flexibility in their planning, and are also a way to further support physical distancing,” according to a post on the Disney Parks Blog.

Visitors will only be able to join one the virtual queue once per day “in order to give as many guests as possible the opportunity to join the Resistance.” A push notification from the app will let visitors when it’s time to head to Rise of the Resistance.

Officials said as a result of these changes, they are not able to accommodate as many people on the ride and keep physical distancing a top priority.
