Dumbo The Flying Elephant

Take flight as Timothy Q. Mouse keeps you aloft with his “magic” feather.

Before flying with Dumbo you can enjoy the playground inside instead of waiting in lines in the Florida sun. Don’t worry you will not miss your flight. They will let you know when it is your turn to ride.

The ride opened without Timothy Q. Mouse in 1971 but he was finally added with his ball in 1972. Originally opening with 10 vehicles it wasn’t until 1993 that the ride was updated to 16 vehicles. In 2012 when the new Fantasyland was constructed the Dumbo ride was expanded and finally included the interactive queue.

    Fun Facts:

    • With the expansion of Fantasyland the new Dumbo ride spins clockwise. You will notice that all the other Dumbo rides in the other parks spin counterclockwise.
    • The original attraction had only 10 vehicles.
    • A replica of the original Magic Kingdom’s Dumbo ride still exists at Tokyo Disneyland.
