    It’s a Small World

    This water-based boat ride includes over 300 audio-animatronic dolls. The dolls are dressed in traditional costumes from all over the world as they sing and dance to one of the most recognizable songs in the world. 

     Walt Disney wanted one song that can be translated easily into different languages. Robert B. Sherman and Richard M. Sherman, two staff songwriters wrote, “It’s a Small World (After All).” When presenting the song to Walt the tempo was so slow and Walt wanted something more cheerful. After speeding up the tempo, “It’s a Small World” was truly born. 

    Opening in 1971, It’s a Small World that has left many riders with smiles on their faces as it gives one simple message.

    It is truly a small world after all. 

    Fun Facts:

    • Children of the World was the first working title of the attraction.
    • The song was written in the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis and the message was about peace.
    • “It’s a Small World” was created for the 1065-1065 NY World’s Fair.
