Disney has unveiled its first glimpse of National Treasure: Edge of History during San Diego Comic-Con 2022 that will stream on Disney+.
Based on the adventure movies from 2004 and 2007 starring Nicolas Cage, National Treasure: Edge of History will continue to center around treasure hunters who discover secrets hidden in historical works of art.
The 15-second teaser offers the first glimpse of Lisette Alexis (Jess Morales) as she off on the adventure of a lifetime to find out more about her own family’s mysterious past, as well as save a lost Pan-American treasure.
While Nicolas Cage won’t be appearing on the show, the series stars Justin Bartha (Riley Poole), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Billie Pearce), Jordan Rodrigues (Ethan), Antonio Cipriano (Oren), Zuri Reed (Tasha) and Lisette Olivera (Jess Morales).
Mira Nair is directing the upcoming TV show based on scripts by Rick Muirragui. Jerry Bruckheimer, Jon Turteltaub, Cormac Wibberley, Marianne Wibberley, Jonathan Litman, and KristieAnne Reed are on board as executive producers along with Muirragui and Nair.
In addition to the Disney+ show, a third “National Treasure” film is currently in development.
