Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a massive attraction with multiple ride systems that is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced at Walt Disney World Resort… or anywhere else in the galaxy!
Head down the path into ancient caves and join the Resistance as they gather recruits for a secret mission. As always you will experience unexpected twists and turns and most likely will be captured.
The attraction is inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. In one of the longest Disney attraction experiences ever. It has 18 show areas and 4 ride system types in all bringing guests through the biggest attraction show building they’ve ever created.
Fans of the current “Star Wars” trilogy will appreciate seeing the actors who play Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn and Poe Dameron, who all reprise their roles and recorded original scenes and audio for the attraction. (Many of the scenes were filmed during the production of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”)
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance delivers thrilling action driven by cutting-edge technology and innovative design that gives guests the feeling of stepping inside a Star Wars film.
Guests will join the Resistance and depart from Batuu in a transport ship to meet General Leia Organa at a secret rendezvous point. However, on their way to the hidden base, guests are intercepted and taken prisoner by the First Order as their ship is drawn into the hangar bay of a Star Destroyer. The action then ramps up as guests seek to escape the clutches of Kylo Ren and the First Order.
The ride vehicles uses trackless technology, which means that the vehicle doesn’t have a visible path it will take, making it much more unpredictable. Expect lots of unexpected twists and turns with the potential of a different experience every time you ride it.
Rise of the Resistance is set up with a 3-Act Structure:
- Act 1: The caves systems of Batuu and ride Pre-Show
- Act 2: Ascent into space aboard the I-TS shuttle
- Act 3: Escape from the Star Destroyer
The attraction is about 18 minutes long. That takes into consideration the pre-show before boarding the shuttle and all ride elements.

- In this ride there are 65 Audio-Animatronic figures.
- It is the largest concrete pour in the history of all the Disney parks.
- This ride has been called a, “technical masterpiece”.
- It opened in 2019.
- Since there are so many different technical challenges the ride has had several breakdowns since opening.
So how do you get the chance to ride this one of a kind attraction?
- You must register for a boarding group on their phone and at in-park kiosks.
- You must be in the park to apply for a boarding group.
- Many guests get very frustrated since the boarding groups usually fill up in the first few minutes of the park opening.
