“Festival of the Lion King” will return to its full version at Disney’s Animal Kingdom beginning on July 16, 2022, bringing one of the show’s most popular acts back with it.
The show, which has been performed in a modified format since May 2021, didn’t have their popular tumble monkeys and bird dancers due to COVID-19 protocols.
On July 16, the show will once again feature the tumble monkeys as they flip, jump and perform other stunts while the birds stretch their wings to take flight.
“Festival of the Lion King” is a Broadway-style show performed in the round that features music and characters inspired by the Disney animated film, “The Lion King.”
As Disney prepares to bring back the full show, the modified show “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” will officially end its run July 4. Festival of the Lion King” will be a Lightning Lane entry with Disney Genie+ when it opens.
